Role overview A cloud-native SaaS company is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to build and scale the platform that delivers GitOps tooling for enterprise Kubernetes users. The role centers on Go development, scalable services, and developer-empathetic product design for a globally adopted ecosystem.
Responsibilities - Design, build, test, and improve backend services for a multi-tenant SaaS platform serving thousands of Kubernetes clusters. - Develop production code in Go, including Kubernetes controllers or operators running at scale across cloud and on-prem environments. - Collaborate with designers and engineers to ship features that simplify infrastructure operations for end users. - Maintain and evolve relational data stores (Postgres or MySQL) and APIs that underpin platform workflows. - Mentor teammates on engineering best practices and contribute to a healthy engineering culture. - Help ensure the platform stays scalable, reliable, and grounded in developer empathy as usage grows.
Requirements - 5+ years of professional software development experience, including 3+ years building scalable web applications in Go. - Hands-on experience building Kubernetes controllers or operators in AWS, GCP, Azure, or on-prem. - Deep knowledge of systems design, API design, and infrastructure. - Experience with relational databases such as Postgres or MySQL. - Strong communication skills and a collaborative, developer-experience-focused mindset. - BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience, and residence within US time zones (Pacific through Eastern), including Canada.
Nice to have - Familiarity with GitOps-based delivery workflows, Argo CD, or Kargo. - Multi-region, multi-cluster Kubernetes deployment experience. - Exposure to compliance-adjacent infrastructure (SOC 2, ISO 27001, ISO 28000:2022, HIPAA, or PCI DSS). - Background operating infrastructure at platform or developer tooling companies.
