About this role
Role overview
This is a senior leadership role focused on designing and shipping AI-native customer experiences for major brands across commerce, content, and interactive interfaces. The position blends hands-on engineering with architectural direction, team mentorship, and client advisory work. It is based in a hybrid London setting and operates in close collaboration with global studio teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture of AI-native experience platforms, spanning frontend rendering systems, retrieval pipelines, orchestration layers, and agentic workflows. - Stay hands-on with engineering, contributing to prototypes, proof-of-concepts, and production acceleration for emerging AI-enabled products. - Manage and mentor a small engineering team, setting technical direction, delivery standards, and engineering quality. - Engage directly with senior client stakeholders, leading discovery sessions, workshops, and architecture discussions that translate technical complexity into business value. - Design systems that support conversational rendering, dynamic content assembly, streaming UX, and adaptive interfaces grounded in intent and contextual generation. - Drive rapid proof-of-concepts and innovation initiatives while balancing experimentation with delivery quality and commercial realities.
Requirements
- Senior experience across modern frontend engineering and AI-native architecture, with a track record of shipping scalable production systems. - Advanced capability with React and Next.js, including Server Components, streaming UX, edge rendering, and component systems. - Hands-on experience across modern LLM ecosystems (for example OpenAI, Gemini, Claude), retrieval pipelines, vector storage, embeddings, multi-agent systems, and AI observability tooling. - Familiarity with AI-assisted development tooling such as Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex, plus prompt-driven and pair-programming workflows. - Working knowledge of cloud and edge infrastructure, preferably Vercel and GCP (AWS and Azure also relevant), serverless patterns, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code. - Strong communication skills and comfort operating as both a technical architect and a client-facing advisor, with a curious, experimental, low-ego mindset.
Nice to have
- Exposure to REST and GraphQL APIs, microservices and MACH-style architectures. - Experience operating inside CMS, DXP, and broader MarTech ecosystems. - Background working across globally distributed studios and undefined, fast-moving technical territory.
Benefits and work setup
- Hybrid working environment with required in-office collaboration days, alongside flexibility to discuss accommodations. - An organizational commitment to equal opportunity and a culture centered on respect and inclusion. - Collaboration with cross-disciplinary design, engineering, and innovation teams on work aimed at shaping how AI-native experiences are built and delivered.
