Backend Engineer (NestJS)

Role overview Build and scale the backend API supporting a large set of merchant storefronts. You’ll shape data models, connect external services, and improve the speed and reliability of core platform services.

Responsibilities - Develop new API endpoints and improve existing services using NestJS. - Design and tune PostgreSQL schemas to support performance at scale. - Integrate payment, logistics, and communications providers. - Improve reliability and throughput with caching, queues, and rate limiting. - Write unit and integration tests and maintain code quality. - Take part in on-call coverage and incident response.

Requirements - At least four years of backend development experience. - Proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js. - Experience with NestJS or a comparable backend framework. - Strong understanding of relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL. - Experience designing REST APIs and implementing authentication such as JWT or OAuth. - Familiarity with Redis caching strategies.

Nice to have - Experience with queues such as BullMQ, RabbitMQ, or Kafka. - Knowledge of microservices and event-driven systems. - Background integrating fintech or payment services.
