Senior Backend Engineer (Java/Kotlin)

Role overview Design and deliver backend services for client projects, contributing to both implementation and technical direction. The role combines JVM-based service development with distributed systems work, mentoring through pairing and shared responsibility for production reliability.

Responsibilities - Build and maintain core backend services for client engagements. - Contribute to code reviews and architectural decisions. - Pair with junior engineers to support their development. - Guide technical choices related to performance and regulatory compliance. - Share on-call duties and help resolve production incidents. - Apply unit and integration testing to service development.

Requirements - At least five years of production experience with Java 21 or later, Kotlin, or both. - Experience with distributed systems, event-driven architecture and messaging such as Kafka or RabbitMQ. - PostgreSQL experience, including data modeling. - Ability to design REST and GraphQL APIs. - A disciplined approach to unit and integration testing. - Written English communication skills.
