Forward Deployed Software Engineer

Role overview Build and deliver new software capabilities directly with customers, from early problem discovery through working prototypes and feature delivery. The work combines software engineering with frequent contact with end users: you will investigate operational pain points, test ideas in context, and refine solutions as you learn. The role is suited to an independent problem solver comfortable making sound tradeoffs in fast-moving, uncertain situations.

Responsibilities - Visit customer sites and speak with users to understand their needs and challenges. - Work with product managers and designers to define, design, and build new capabilities and prototypes. - Deliver usable prototypes and customer-facing features, then improve them based on feedback. - Identify the most consequential gaps in developing solutions and prioritize fixes with the product team. - Contribute across the software development process, producing clear, testable, maintainable code. - Iterate quickly while keeping customer outcomes and responsible delivery in view.

Requirements - U.S. citizenship. - A bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. - At least one year of front-end or back-end development experience; relevant technologies include SQL, Java, TypeScript, or React. - Ability to work independently with limited supervision. - Readiness to work in a challenging, fast-paced technology environment.

Nice to have - An existing U.S. security clearance or eligibility to obtain one with sponsorship. - Experience in a startup or other entrepreneurial setting, or in a federally accredited software environment. - Customer-facing or consulting experience.
