Design Engineer

Role overview Build and refine a software product for professional services, working across frontend implementation, interaction design, accessibility, and product direction. The role suits an experienced product-minded engineer who can turn complex workflows into clear interfaces and carry features from early planning through maintenance.

Responsibilities - Plan, design, implement, and maintain new and existing product features. - Improve interface details, interactions, accessibility, and overall user experience. - Review implementations and help guide design direction. - Extend the design system and its reusable components. - Share craft and implementation feedback with designers and developers to raise quality. - Use AI coding tools to explore, write, review, test, and debug software, applying judgment to improve their output.

Requirements - Experience building product interfaces and working comfortably in a large codebase. - Strong frontend engineering skills; the team’s current stack includes React, TypeScript, and styled components. - A portfolio or examples that demonstrate modern product design, attention to detail, and the ability to turn design into polished software. - Care for clean design, code, and documentation, alongside a focus on delivering customer value. - Clear written communication in code reviews, commits, and team discussions. - Good judgment when using AI-generated code, including knowing when to refine it manually.

Benefits and work setup The role is remote-friendly, with candidates welcome from different locations if their working hours support regular collaboration with the team in Finland. Occasional in-person time is welcomed, and office access is available in Espoo.
