About this role
Role overview
A data engineering role focused on building and maintaining the core data infrastructure that powers enterprise analytics, with a particular emphasis on finance data modeling. The position centers on supporting a current ERP platform and driving an upcoming migration to a modern cloud-based finance system, partnering closely with product, engineering, and business stakeholders. The work blends hands-on pipeline development, scalable architecture design, and data governance.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using a Snowflake and AWS core stack. - Develop modular, scalable data models with dbt Core following a layered (Bronze, Silver, Gold) architecture that turns raw feeds into curated, business-ready data marts. - Translate complex financial workflows into reliable data solutions by working cross-functionally with business stakeholders to understand source systems and downstream consumption needs. - Write reusable, efficient, and scalable code in Python and SQL. - Enforce data governance and security best practices, including role-based access control across pipelines that handle sensitive financial information. - Establish automated testing, data observability, and documentation standards to support safe data democratization, while monitoring cloud usage and tuning query performance in Snowflake.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field plus 3-5 years of industry experience. - Extensive hands-on experience with Snowflake and demonstrated ability to design scalable data solutions on AWS. - Deep expertise with dbt Core, layered (medallion-style) architecture, dimensional modeling, and complex data transformations. - Experience with finance data modeling and enterprise ERP systems; familiarity with Oracle EBS or Workday is highly valued. - Advanced SQL skills and proficiency in Python for data processing. - Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines for automated, safe deployments, plus strong communication skills for explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Nice to have
- Background supporting ERP migrations and integrating finance systems into a modern data platform. - Experience with cost-optimization practices in cloud data warehouses.
Benefits and work setup
- National base salary range of $120,000 to $150,000 USD, with final compensation based on location, experience, and training. - Healthcare, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, and mental health benefits for employees and their families. - 401(k) plan with company match and tuition assistance. - Flexible paid time off, paid sick leave, and ten paid holidays annually. - Parental planning benefits and bonus or incentive programs. - Remote-eligible within multiple U.S. states; new hires may be asked to travel in person for initial onboarding, with travel expenses handled by the employer. - Full-time U.S. work authorization required; visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
