Java Coding Specialist - Freelance AI Trainer Project
Job details
About this role
Role overview Evaluate advanced AI models’ ability to solve challenging problems in Java. The work focuses on judging whether generated solutions are correct, clearly reasoned, robust to edge cases, and suitable for production—not simply whether they run.
Responsibilities - Review Java problems and model-generated solutions across a range of difficulty levels. - Assess correctness, design choices, code quality, reasoning, and handling of edge cases. - Identify where a solution’s logic or implementation fails and document the failure clearly. - Flag problems that are underspecified or poorly calibrated for training and evaluation. - Provide actionable assessments that help improve model performance.
Requirements - Deep Java knowledge, including object-oriented design, concurrency, JVM internals, data structures, algorithms, and system architecture. - Ability to explain precisely why a solution is flawed or weak. - Strong written communication for documenting technical judgments and failure patterns. - A degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field is noted as a strong signal; practical Java experience, competitive programming, open-source work, or technical writing are also relevant indicators.
Benefits and work setup - Freelance contract project; work is remote. - Pay is $45 per hour for candidates who pass preliminary Java-focused assessments. - Contractors provide a secure computer and high-speed internet. Health insurance and paid time off are not provided.
