Senior Staff Software Engineer, Fullstack (Marketplace and Consumer Experiences)

Role overview A senior staff engineering role defining and leading technical strategy across the consumer marketplace and search experiences of a pay-over-time fintech. The position shapes the long-term technical roadmap, sets architectural direction across fullstack teams, and partners with engineering leadership to deliver reliable, large-scale product features. Responsibilities - Define the technical direction, long-term roadmap, and strategic initiatives spanning Marketplace, Search, the Ads Platform, and App Experiences - Champion technical excellence across all consumer-facing experiences in partnership with stakeholders, balancing reliability with business outcomes - Foster a strong ownership culture with high accountability for building at scale and with efficiency - Guide delivery of critical user experiences that ship customer value quickly and reliably - Design, implement, and extend core platform components that enable new products and features - Contribute to platform, tooling, and technology decisions that promote consistency and reliability - Mentor and lead a group of engineers, championing best practices and supporting their growth

Requirements - 10+ years of experience working across the stack, with a track record of driving architectural improvements in the backend; bonus for experience with React Native, JavaScript, or Kotlin - Demonstrated success leading critical projects that span multiple engineering teams and organizational boundaries - Extensive experience developing and implementing technical strategy that produced measurable gains in reliability and performance - Previous project management or people management experience - Strong verbal and written communication skills for influencing and sharing critical decisions with stakeholders - Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience
