Job details
About this role
Role overview Support an R&D team as it investigates emerging AI and machine learning capabilities, evaluates technologies, and explores software development approaches. Working with guidance from a team lead and senior colleagues, you will research, contribute to small prototypes, document results, and present recommendations; the role is designed to grow in independence and technical scope over time.
Responsibilities - Track relevant AI/ML developments, frameworks, and developer tools, and summarize useful findings from research, vendor updates, and other sources. - Help build scoped proof-of-concept projects and feasibility experiments using assigned tools or platforms; raise blockers and unclear scope early. - Document experiment setup, methods, results, and conclusions, including what succeeded, what did not, and why. - Present findings and recommend whether an experiment should proceed, change direction, or stop. - Build familiarity with team practices through onboarding, pairing, knowledge sharing, and feedback; take on broader exploration work as skills develop. - Follow experiment tracking, documentation, data handling, security, and ethical-use standards.
Requirements - A degree or diploma in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or a related field; alternatively, a coding bootcamp or self-taught portfolio showing comparable practical ability. - Up to three years of professional software development or technical research experience; recent graduates and career changers with a strong portfolio are welcome. - Working knowledge of at least one modern programming language, such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or C#. - Basic familiarity with version control and the software development lifecycle. - Demonstrated curiosity about emerging technology, AI/ML, or development tooling through projects, coursework, or prior exposure. - Comfort working with ambiguity and ideas that have not yet been proven.
