Pre-sales Solution Architect

Role overview Own the technical solution for prospective client engagements, from early qualification through proposal and presentation. You’ll work across sales, leadership and delivery teams to shape practical data and AI architectures, demonstrate their value and help turn opportunities into scoped work.

Responsibilities - Design end-to-end data and AI solutions using Azure, Databricks and related services, including Lakehouse platforms. - Lead discovery with client data, analytics and platform teams; document current systems, requirements, constraints and desired outcomes. - Translate business and technical needs into buildable architecture, applying established patterns and assessing scalability, supportability and cost. - Identify technical risks, track them and guide mitigation; present designs to engineering teams and senior stakeholders. - Create or oversee demos, architecture diagrams, proposal material and technical responses to RFPs and RFIs. - Contribute technical content to Statements of Work and support opportunities through to agreement.

Requirements - Strong expertise in Databricks and the Azure data and AI ecosystem. - Experience designing data platforms and AI solutions, including Lakehouse architectures. - Ability to lead technical discovery and turn requirements into clear solution designs. - Skill presenting architecture and explaining technical trade-offs to varied audiences. - Commercial awareness and ability to collaborate with sales, leadership, subject matter experts and delivery teams.

Benefits and work setup - Salary range: £80,000–£110,000, depending on experience. - Remote within the UK, with occasional customer and team visits. - The stated interview process includes an introductory conversation, a technical assessment and a final interview.
