Staff Software Engineer - Files Platform

Role overview Join a Files Platform team building enterprise-scale file management infrastructure for wealth management firms. The work spans distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and access control, with a focus on secure storage, permission propagation, and third-party integrations serving firms from small advisory shops to the largest global wealth managers.

Responsibilities - Architect, implement, and maintain backend services for file storage, permission synchronization, and third-party integrations at enterprise scale. - Design and build event-driven systems that propagate permission changes in real time across internal data graphs and external storage providers, meeting strict compliance revocation SLAs. - Collaborate with product managers, engineers, security, and compliance teams on work involving sensitive data access controls. - Lead migration efforts such as consolidating storage platforms, unifying webhooks, and evolving folder structures with zero-downtime rollouts for production clients. - Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices across the team. - Explore AI-powered capabilities for intelligent file processing, metadata extraction, and content-aware workflows. - Evaluate emerging third-party file platform capabilities to expand product offerings.

Requirements - 7+ years of professional backend software engineering experience. - Degree in Computer Science or a closely related technical field. - Proficiency with server-side languages such as Java, Python, or C++. - Experience with relational databases including MySQL, Postgres, or SQL Server. - Track record of completing complex projects that span multiple teams and partners. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

Nice to have - Experience building scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS. - Familiarity working with file system vendors or enterprise file platforms.
