Remote job
Senior or Principal Machine Learning Scientist
Job details
About this role
Role overview Develop machine learning methods to predict how T cell receptors recognize peptide–MHC complexes. The work combines biological data and computational modeling, with close collaboration across scientific and engineering teams and feedback from experimental results. At the principal level, the role also sets technical direction and guides strategy across programs.
Responsibilities - Design, train, and evaluate deep learning models for immune receptor specificity. - Combine sequence, structural, and other biological data in modeling approaches. - Apply relevant advances in protein modeling, language models, and representation learning to the prediction problem. - Build rigorous benchmarks to assess accuracy, generalization, and practical value. - Use model results to guide experiments and identify ways to improve predictions. - Share methods, findings, and limitations with varied audiences; contribute to scientific outputs and technical decisions.
Requirements - PhD in machine learning, computational biology, computer science, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent education and experience. - Progressive experience developing and deploying deep learning for scientific, biological, or similarly complex problems. - Strong Python and modern machine learning skills; PyTorch is preferred. - Experience designing and implementing deep learning architectures and working with large datasets and high-performance computing. - Ability to scope and execute complex research, communicate clearly, and collaborate across disciplines. - Senior-level candidates typically bring a PhD and five or more years of relevant experience; principal-level candidates need the technical leadership to shape strategy, roadmaps, and standards.
Benefits and work setup The role uses shared GPU resources and a large immune receptor dataset, with an iterative link between modeling and experimental data generation. Compensation may include elements beyond base pay; specific benefit details are not available in the source.
