Role overview The position supports the design, documentation, and testing of SAP custom development objects tied to HR and payroll processes. The work begins with translating business and functional requirements into detailed functional design specifications, then transitions into functional testing to confirm that custom-built solutions match approved designs and end-to-end process expectations.
Responsibilities - Review business requirements, process documentation, and solution designs for custom development objects. - Translate requirements into detailed functional design specifications covering business rules, calculations, data structures, validations, and error handling. - Identify SAP HCM/Payroll configuration dependencies, data requirements, and integration touchpoints; facilitate design walkthroughs and resolve open questions with technical teams. - Provide ongoing clarification to developers during build, and keep traceability between requirements, functional designs, and delivered objects intact. - Develop detailed test scenarios, scripts, and data aligned to approved designs, then execute functional testing and document results for audit traceability. - Log defects, collaborate with developers on expected behavior, validate fixes, support regression testing, and prepare handoffs to later testing phases.
Requirements - Four or more years of SAP HCM functional experience. - Working knowledge of HR processes and SAP HCM data structures. - Experience producing functional specifications for SAP custom developments. - Experience designing and executing functional test cases for SAP solutions. - Ability to convert business requirements into detailed functional and technical documentation. - Understanding of SAP custom development object types such as reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, and workflows.
Nice to have - Eligibility to obtain a Public Trust clearance. - U.S. citizenship, given federal-sector eligibility requirements. - Familiarity with regulated federal customer environments and audit-driven delivery.
Benefits and work setup - The disclosed base pay range for the listed U.S. states is approximately $91,700 to $178,700 USD, depending on location, skill set, and experience. - The role supports federal clients, so candidates must already have work authorization that does not require future visa sponsorship.
