About this role
Role overview A senior geospatial role supporting nationwide coverage reinvestment activities for federal and public safety communications programs. The work centers on advanced ArcGIS-based analysis, suitability modeling, and integration of diverse spatial datasets to identify and justify optimal candidate locations at national scale.
Responsibilities - Perform advanced geospatial analysis to support nationwide coverage reinvestment, including suitability modeling, geospatial overlays, and multi-criteria assessments - Manage, process, and analyze large ArcGIS datasets using scripts, automation, and advanced geoprocessing tools - Produce technically accurate maps, layers, models, and documentation packages that support engineering, business, and investment decisions across multi-state and national programs - Integrate crowdsourced, RAN-derived, and third-party GIS sources to inform area-of-interest identification, prioritization, and justification - Develop, validate, and refine workflows for large spatial datasets to ensure data integrity, repeatability, and auditability - Solve complex geospatial data challenges and communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Requirements - Bachelor's degree (a graduate certification or advanced degree may offset one year of experience) - 8+ years of GIS analyst experience - Experience using ArcGIS, data management tools, and scripting to process large databases in support of GIS activities - Hands-on experience with ArcGIS Suitability Modeling applied on a nationwide basis to identify optimal locations - Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with multi-state or national public safety communications programs and projects - Proven problem-solving skills when handling large datasets within ArcGIS
Nice to have - Experience using crowdsourced data to produce insights that support investment activities - Familiarity integrating diverse datasets, including crowdsourced, RAN inputs, and third-party GIS sources, for nationwide analysis
