Role overview
This Manager, Software Engineering role leads one or more product development teams building a diverse SaaS platform built primarily on Java and .NET. The position sits at the intersection of engineering execution and people leadership, balancing hands-on technical oversight with resource planning, delivery discipline, and cross-functional coordination. Ideal candidates combine technical depth with operational rigor and the ability to align teams around broader business and product priorities.
Responsibilities
- Guide one or more product development teams through design, build, testing, deployment, and ongoing delivery - Manage backlog and priorities in Jira, coordinating requirements, schedules, and dependencies with Product Management - Plan capacity and resourcing across teams, surfacing gaps and resolving conflicts to keep delivery on track - Partner with Product Managers, Tech Leads, QA, Cloud Operations, and other groups to coordinate execution across dependencies - Contribute to roadmaps, milestones, delivery plans, and tracking mechanisms for risks, issues, and dependencies - Champion AI-enabled development practices that raise engineering productivity and quality - Provide technical coaching, mentoring, and career support to developers across assigned teams - Maintain consistent development practices, documentation, and stakeholder communication
Requirements
- At least 3 years managing a software development team, ideally within a SaaS, enterprise technology, or cloud-based environment - Hands-on experience with Java and/or .NET platforms alongside contemporary CI/CD practices - Solid grasp of the software development lifecycle, resource planning, capacity management, and delivery execution - Track record of juggling multiple priorities, dependencies, and timelines to drive initiatives through completion - Experience collaborating cross-functionally with Product Management, Quality Assurance, Engineering, and adjacent technical teams - Proficiency with development and collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence - Strong communication, stakeholder management, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Angular, JavaScript, jQuery, or related front-end technologies - Experience supporting SaaS platforms and cloud infrastructure or cloud transformation initiatives - Exposure to AI-enabled development tools or AI-driven engineering practices
