Senior Software Engineer (Full-Stack, JavaScript)

Role overview

A 100% remote role within Latin America for a senior engineer who will own significant portions of full-stack systems built on Next.js, Node.js, and TypeScript. The position blends hands-on engineering with technical leadership, design documentation, and cross-team collaboration as the organization integrates applied AI into product development.

Responsibilities

- Design and build end-to-end applications spanning frontend and backend layers - Define system architecture, APIs, and data models for scalable products - Lead technical discovery by understanding systems, constraints, and opportunities - Guide engineering decisions through design reviews, code reviews, and mentorship - Partner with product and design to shape solutions from idea to implementation - Produce clear architecture documentation and communicate trade-offs to varied audiences - Drive delivery while helping maintain a high technical bar across the team

Requirements

- Ten or more years building production-grade applications of real-world complexity - Prior experience acting as a technical lead or owning significant parts of a system - Strong expertise in JavaScript or TypeScript, React including Next.js, and Node.js - Experience building full-stack applications with modern TypeScript frameworks such as React, React Native, or NestJS - Solid background designing APIs with REST and GraphQL - Data modeling experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or DynamoDB - Hands-on work with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure - Familiarity with CI/CD, deployment pipelines, and infrastructure practices such as Terraform - Strong written and verbal communication skills in English - Demonstrated ability to drive problems from definition through delivery

Nice to have

- Experience building AI-enabled product features or integrating machine learning systems - Background in client-facing or multi-project environments
