Integration Engineer, Clinical Data Path

Role overview An integration role that owns the path clinical imaging takes from a hospital's systems, through model inference, and back as a delivered result. The work spans on-premise ingest, cloud DICOMweb receivers, privacy boundaries, outbound lanes to clinical systems, and the observability hospital IT teams need to trust the pipeline. It is a customer-facing role: location is matched to the account base, and the hire joins IT and security reviews during the customer's clinical day.

Responsibilities - Operate and harden a pynetdicom C-STORE service for on-premise ingest, with backpressure, untouched compressed transfer syntaxes, and disk spooling - Maintain a streaming, bounded-memory DICOMweb STOW-RS receiver with per-part study-UID checks and exactly one canonicalization and inference per request - Resolve customer tenancy at the boundary with no silent default, apply DICOM PS3.15 confidentiality rules, and run a fail-closed check before data leaves the customer network - Implement outbound delivery via JSON callbacks, dictation-system autotext, and HL7 v2 ORU^R01 over MLLP, shaped to whatever interface engine the customer runs - Provide per-study tracing, three-component health for each integration, and drift checks between intended and deployed state - Bring gateway repositories under proper continuous integration

Requirements - Hands-on experience with DICOM, HL7 v2, MLLP, and healthcare integration patterns - Comfort writing Python services, including streaming and bounded-memory parsers - Track record of debugging integrations where the root cause differs from the error message - Ability to participate in hospital IT and clinical security reviews

Nice to have - Background operating inside customer-hosted environments with restricted tooling
