Job details
About this role
Role overview Own the frontend architecture and implementation for a client-facing B2B product, from early design decisions through delivery and handover. The work involves information-dense interfaces where performance and usability matter, and includes setting team standards for React, TypeScript and usually Next.js. You’ll also guide how the team uses coding agents, applying judgment to their output.
Responsibilities - Choose and document rendering, state management, data fetching and code organization approaches. - Build complex interface components such as virtualized tables, live charts and multi-state forms, then establish reusable patterns. - Improve code quality through reviews, useful tests, strong types and clear conventions. - Profile frontend performance and address issues in areas such as bundle size, code splitting and responsiveness. - Join client demos, explain technical trade-offs and incorporate feedback where appropriate. - Prepare documentation and walkthroughs so the client team can maintain the product after handover.
Requirements - Around five or more years building and maintaining production React applications. - Strong TypeScript skills and practical experience architecting Next.js applications, including rendering choices, server components, caching and revalidation. - Experience creating component libraries and design systems with documented tokens and variants. - A considered approach to data fetching and state ownership, using tools such as React Query or server component patterns. - Experience with demanding interfaces, testing strategy, build pipelines, CSS, accessibility and performance profiling. - Clear spoken and written English, client communication skills, and sound judgment about where coding agents help or require human review.
Nice to have - Real-time data experience, including websockets, streaming updates or optimistic UI. - Experience maintaining design systems across multiple products, or working in domains where interface errors have significant consequences. - Arabic language skills.
Benefits and work setup - Remote work across the MENA region, with working hours organized around team overlap. - Small teams, direct client involvement from the start, and products that move from delivery to handover. - Budget for equipment and tools, plus a learning budget with time to use it. Paid time off is encouraged, and timesheets are not used.
