Job details
About this role
Role overview
Set up and improve cloud infrastructure and software delivery pipelines across client engagements, then hand over systems that client teams can operate themselves. The work emphasizes infrastructure as code, clear documentation, practical security, and dependable operations, with choices suited to each client rather than unnecessary complexity.
Responsibilities
- Bring new engagements from an empty environment to a deployable cloud setup. - Create readable, maintainable infrastructure using Terraform, Pulumi, or a comparable tool. - Configure logs, metrics, traces, and actionable alerts for production services. - Address access controls, secrets, backups, and common security review needs. - Make infrastructure costs visible and help clients understand what drives them. - Write operational runbooks and lead handover sessions so client engineers can maintain the systems.
Requirements
- At least four years in platform engineering or SRE, including responsibility for production systems. - Strong Terraform experience, including modules, state management, drift, and reviewable plans. - Experience designing CI/CD pipelines with a platform such as GitHub Actions or GitLab CI, including rollback strategies. - Practical observability experience with tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or Sentry. - Knowledge of secrets management, least-privilege access, rotation, and single sign-on. - Strong cloud and networking fundamentals, including DNS, TLS, CDNs, and load balancing; able to choose Kubernetes or serverless based on the use case.
Nice to have
- Cloudflare Workers or other edge platforms. - Compliance experience, such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, or regional regulatory requirements. - Database operations, including restoring and validating backups.
Benefits and work setup
- Remote work across the MENA region, with hours coordinated around team overlap. - Small teams with direct client contact and products that typically ship in weeks. - Budget for equipment and tools, and a learning budget with time to use it. - Paid time off and no timesheet-based tracking.
