You’ll own the product end to end and shape the foundations for later collaboration features.
Responsibilities - Define the editor’s document model and frontend architecture for canvas content, rich text, and bidirectional text. - Build the initial product scope, including editing, templates, presenting, share links, and PDF and PowerPoint export. - Make saving dependable and ensure exported decks are practical to use. - Harden the existing prototype, tests, and design system, and establish engineering practices for future contributors. - Design the architecture so real-time co-editing can be added in a later phase. - Partner with product design and, as the team grows, backend engineering to deliver the product.
Requirements - Experience building a rich browser editor, such as a text editor, canvas or design tool, or slide-making product. - Strong frontend engineering skills with React and TypeScript. - Ability to take responsibility for a product from technical decisions through delivery in an early-stage environment. - Practical judgment about editor behavior, document structure, and reliable export and save workflows.
Nice to have - Experience with CRDT-based co-editing, such as Yjs. - Knowledge of right-to-left and bidirectional text, text input methods, and font loading. - Arabic proficiency.
Benefits and work setup - Full-time and remote, working with a distributed team across the Gulf and South Asia.
