Job details
About this role
Role overview This is a conductor-style technical project management role inside a small industrial software team, owning the timing and clarity of both customer-facing deployments and the internal product backlog. The work spans operations technology infrastructure for manufacturing customers and the engineering rhythm behind it, with a dual focus on delivery dates customers trust and a backlog engineers can pull from confidently.
Responsibilities - Own scope, timeline, and budget for typically two to three active customer deployment projects at once - Run regular status calls with industrial stakeholders, from plant floor staff to corporate IT and OT leadership - Maintain visual milestone plans that stay honest, surfacing and deciding on scope creep rather than absorbing it silently - Translate the CTO and Architect's roadmap into well-defined epics and tasks across new features, CI/CD pipelines, IaC and GitOps, and security work - Run a lightweight agile cadence that gives clarity without adding drag, balancing tech-debt, productivity, and new features - Keep a clean, prioritized internal backlog that is requirements-ready the moment capacity opens up
Requirements - Strong systems integrator project management background, with credibility in industrial or OT environments and the ability to speak with plant managers and controls engineers - Experience bridging modern agile practices with traditional customer-facing delivery planning - Excellent communication skills and a track record managing multiple customer projects in parallel - Availability for at least 4 hours of overlap with U.S. Central Time business hours (9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) - For the senior level: 7+ years of experience plus IT fluency in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and IaC, with the ability to write requirements engineers respect
Nice to have - SCADA or HMI experience, ideally with Ignition - Familiarity with Kubernetes, Azure, or IaC and GitOps tooling - MSP or managed services background - Commercial awareness of how delivery dynamics affect business outcomes - CSPO or similar agile product ownership certification
Benefits and work setup - Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and 401K - Fully remote, work from anywhere - Small, fast-moving team with real autonomy and a culture that values honesty, learning from mistakes, and shared growth
