Senior Software Developer

Role overview Lead software development across public-facing engineering tools, data products, an MCP server, and internal tools that support regulated documentation and engineering services. The role combines full-stack product work with data pipelines and carefully evaluated AI workflows, while helping establish sound engineering practices as the team grows.

Responsibilities - Own the architecture and implementation of web tools and their supporting data pipelines; the current stack includes TypeScript, Astro, and edge hosting. - Build and operate pipelines using public medical device data, preserving the source and date for figures shown in tools. - Extend a read-only MCP server with new tools, schemas, and rate controls, and support app directory reviews. - Develop AI-assisted workflows for documentation tasks such as design history file gap analysis, traceability, and submission drafting; measure performance and include human review before client delivery. - Create service delivery tools for parsing documents and drawings, ingesting bills of materials and CAD data, and generating reports. - Turn requirements such as sourcing, privacy, accessibility, and page performance into automated checks; protect confidential client material through least privilege and audit trails. - Set expectations for code review and releases, and mentor future developers.

Requirements - At least two years building production software, with strong TypeScript and Python skills. - Experience shipping and operating web applications and data pipelines end to end. - Practical experience with LLM APIs, including tool use, structured outputs, retrieval, and evaluation. - Familiarity with serverless or edge platforms such as Cloudflare Workers or AWS Lambda. - Clear written English for a primarily written collaboration environment.

Nice to have - Experience with regulated documentation, medical device data, or engineering workflows is relevant to the work described.
